Deadwood Seven Down Regulators
The Deadwood Seven Down Regulators are a great group of cowboys and cowgirls who enjoy the sport of shooting without the horse. We are proud to be an affiliated club of the national organization, Single Action Shooting Society® .
Shooters dress in period costume and shoot at targets arranged in “stages.” Each stage requires the use of two single action pistols, one lever action rifle and a double barrel shotgun. A lot of fun and concentration! Men and women compete in the same posse.
In June, 2003, we held our first big match and delight in the fact that those attending had a great time. Shoot! Magazine, Nov./Dec. 2003 issue has a great write up about that first annual “Summer Shoot.” In June, 2004, we hosted the SASS SD State Championship Shoot. We had a wonderful turnout, 65 shooters from around the country!
We hosted the SASS SD State Championship on June 24, 25, & 26, 2005. This sanctioned shoot was another exciting and fun weekend for all 112 shooters.
