Seven Down Mounted Shooters was organized in 2002 and is affiliated with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association™. We are pleased to offer the excitement and thrill of riding and shooting at Seven Down Arenas.
Shooters dress in period-authentic clothing and using .45 caliber pistols shoots black powder blanks at balloons strategically lined up in what's called a “stage.” Each stage consists of five balloons in a random set (there are 50 patterns to chose from) and five balloons set in a straight line (or “rundown.”) Each shooter and horse is timed and the winner is the cowboy or cowgirl with the fastest time in his or her level.
In June 2005 the club hosted the CMSA South Dakota State Championship which drew 170 shooters from all over the world.
Please visit the CMSA site and check out all the fun you can have as a member. Seven Down Mounted Shooters is proud to be affiliated with the CMSA and hope that you consider joining the fun and action at Seven Down Arenas.
